How long do I need to be at London Heathrow before my flight?

It is recommended by the airport that you should arrive for your flight between two to three hours in advance.

Heathrow suggests at least two hours before a short-haul flight and three hours for a long-haul flight.

They add that it will "give you enough time to clear the check-in, make your way through security and enjoy some duty-free shopping before making your way to your gate."
