MAN has been threatened with a weapon described as a small sword by a group of people in Harlow yesterday.

The incident happened at The Water Gardens, on Wednesday July 24 at around 4:10pm.

Thankfully, the man did not sustain any injuries.

At this stage, no arrests have been made and we’re following a number of targeted lines of enquiry.

Detective Inspector Karen Knibbs, of Harlow CID, said: “We know this incident took place in public and will have shocked those who saw it.

“I’d like to thank the members of the public who alerted us to it, which meant officers were able to respond within a matter of minutes.

“At this stage, no arrests have been made and we’re following several lines of enquiry, which include reviewing CCTV footage as we piece together the moments before and after this incident.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or any behaviour in the lead up to it should get in contact with us as soon as possible.”
