These pictures of the drinking fountain on the corner of Station Road and High Road in Loughton, were taken 89 years apart.
A policeman looks on as two men assess the damage caused to the fountain by a bus colliding into the in thick fog in 1934.
Originally built in 1870 by the Metropolitan Drinking Trough & Fountains Association, the fountain was rebuilt again in 1936 and survives to this day.
