Loughton Station seen above in c1910.
This was the second station built in 1865 after the first one was sited near Lopping Hall.
A new station was opened in April 1940 in readiness for London Underground trains, which took over the service from British Railways (Eastern Region) in November 1948.
The station is of architectural importance and is a Grade II listed building.
