FIREFIGHTERS are at the scene of a fire in a large barn containing a large amount of straw.
Crews were alerted to a fire in Langley Lower Green, Langley at 5.28pm.
Crews from Newport, Stansted and Saffron Walden Fire Stations are in attendance.
At 8pm, the fire service confirmed firefighters are still at the scene fighting the fire.
Pictures show crews outside the large barn which appears to be filled with smoke.
At 9pm, the fire service said: "The fire in under control so the number of firefighters will be reduced. Two fire engines will remain at the scene."
A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters were called to reports of a fire in a large barn in Langley Lower Green.
“When firefighters arrived they reported the barn measured approximately eight metres by 23 metres.
“The barn contained a large quantity of straw.
“Firefighters had to find and establish a good water supply in order to provide enough water to help tackle the blaze.”
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said more information will be given when available.
