A museum has been awarded hidden gem status after wowing judges with fresh ideas.
Visit England, the official tourist board for England, gave Epping Forest District Museum Hidden Gem status in its 2021-2022 Visitor Attraction Accolades.
The accolades are designed to celebrate excellence within the visitor attraction sector and showcase businesses that go the extra mile to provide a high-quality day out.

Visit England said: “It is a fine example of a small museum with a varied and intriguing range of content drawn from the local area, supplemented by a calendar of considered, relevant temporary exhibitions."
Staff at the museum, in Sun Street, were also praised for their knowledge and helpfulness.
The judge’s visit in February 2022 was during the Georgie Meadow’s stitched drawings exhibition.
