Volunteers from 3Food4U were proud to remember and honour fallen heroes across the towns and villages across Epping Forest on Remembrance Sunday.
Representatives of the district's largest emergency food agency paid their respects at memorials in Chigwell, Loughton, Waltham Abbey, Ongar, North Weald, Epping and Buckhurst Hill.
The wreaths were laid by Sherrie Dobson, Linda Roy, Terry Barnard, Pesh Kapasiawala, Geoff Stoneham, Jackie Bonnick, Keith Dark and Steve Fisher.
It was an emotional day for all involved but especially for Linda Roy.
She said: “It was one of my biggest honours to be able to represent 3Food4U by laying a wreath in the charity’s name at the War Memorial in Waltham Abbey to offer gratitude for the fallen in all wars.
“It was an emotional experience and I was thinking of my dear dad William Harry Staff who had a lifelong passion for the RAF and completed his national service for them. I spoke to a proud veteran who saw active service in Malaya in the Second World War.”
Keith and Colette Dark attended the Epping memorial service. Keith said: “It was moving to see the continued increase in the number of people in attendance to pay their respect, particularly the increasing number of children participating in the procession and wreath laying.
"As 3Food4U volunteers we were proud to represent our fellow colleagues laying the charity’s wreath of remembrance.”
