Three people have been charged with the murder and kidnap of a popular Turkish DJ.
Koray Alpergin, 43, was found dead near Oakwood Hill Industrial Estate in Loughton, Essex, on Saturday (October 15).
The DJ, who has connections to celebrities such as rappers P Diddy and Stefflon Don, was reportedly taken against his will after he went missing from Ebony Crescent, Enfield.
Three men have been charged with the murder of the DJ as well as the kidnap of a woman, 33: Erdogan Ulcay, 55, of Oakeshott Avenue, Highgate; Ali Kavak, 25, of De Quincey Road in Tottenham; and a 17-year-old boy.
All three are due to appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (October 20).
A fourth arrested man, aged 55, was bailed pending further enquiries until mid-November.
Metropolitan Police were searching for the two after the initial missing report on October 14 and Mr Alpergin’s body was discovered at around 11.55am on the Saturday.
The woman, who is understood to have been the DJ’s girlfriend, was located and is physically unharmed.
A post-mortem examination carried out on Monday (October 16) found Mr Alpergin died from severe trauma. Further forensic tests are taking place.
Mr Alpergin, founder of London-based Turkish stations Bizim FM and Kral FM, struck the hearts of many as tributes poured on social media.
DJ and actor Hass J Junior wrote: “My friend, my brother. Music and entertainment was how we met 20 years ago and our friendship started then.
“We shared many good times together over the years and helped each other with situations others will never know about. I’m shocked and devastated that God has taken you from us so early.
“You will be missed for so many reasons, you was loved by so many for that character and true heart you carried. I’m gonna miss you. I love you man. Rest In Peace King.”
Another person wrote: “You’ve always been there for me and so many people. Such a bubbly, friendly soul who didn’t deserves this. We need justice. You will always be in our hearts.”
