An investigation has reportedly been launched into a senior council officer after he was accused of sending inappropriate messages to female Ukrainian refugees.
According to the Mail on Sunday, Epping Forest District Council launched an investigation into Nick Dawe, 64, the council's chief operating officer.
The paper reported that Mr Dawe has been accused of sending “overly familiar” texts to woman who fled to Britain following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.

According to the paper the council was alerted by the refugees' host families.
The council is understood to have launched its investigation into Mr Dawe about six weeks ago.
Mr Dawe is quoted as saying: "I cannot comment as a process has yet to start. No allegations have been made by any Ukrainians. There may be a story in about a month’s time but it may well be different."
A council spokesman said: "It would be essential to follow proper HR protocols and procedures in order to prevent prejudice to any investigation.
"We are therefore sorry we are unable to comment in more detail."
Many Ukrainian families are in vulnerable positions. Some 695 had arrived under the family hosting scheme, with 370 owed a duty due to arrangements breaking down and 325 because accommodation was not available or suitable.
And 635 households had come to the UK after being sponsored.
