Drivers may find their journeys disrupted to a number of temporary road closures for roadworks next month.
A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian details plans to shut roads across Epping Forest, including in Harlow and Loughton.
All temporary closure orders are valid for up to 18 months and the dates when works take place are subject to change.
Manhole cover and brickwork repair works are set to shut a lengthy section of Chalk Lane/Harlow Tye Road, Matching, from October 17 for three days.
The closure is due to apply from the junction with Hobbs Cross Road to the junction with Matching Green Road, a distance of 1760m.
The diversion will be via Matching Road, Moor Hall Road, Sheering Road, Churchgate Street, Hobbs Cross Road and vice versa.
Church Lane, Sheering, is set to be shut from 60m south-east of its junction with The Street for a distance of 35m in a south-easterly direction.
The closure is due to start on October 17, lasting for five days and is needed for connection works.
The alternative route will be via Church Lane, Matching Parsonage Farm Lane, Harlow Road, Matching Tye Road, Downhall Road, Matching Road, Sheering Road, Hatfield Heath Road, The Street and vice versa.
Epping Lane, Theydon Mount/Theydon Garnon, is due to be shut on October 17 for one day from 1360m north-east of the junction with Abridge Road for a distance of 625m in a north-easterly direction for pole testing works.
The diversion will be via Epping Lane, Abridge Road, Ongar Road, Passingford Bridge Roundabout, London Road and vice versa.
CCTV and drainage works are due to lead to the temporary closure of High Road, Loughton, from its junction with Warren Hill to its junction with Avenue Gate, a distance of 360m, from October 17 for five nights, 8pm to 5am.
Motorists are advised to use High Road, Church Hill, Goldings Hill, Wake Arms Roundabout, Epping New Road and vice versa when the road is shut.
Road patching works are set to shut Hookfield, Harlow, for one day on October 17 from its junction with Tawneys Road for a distance of 200m in a south-westerly direction.
The alternative route will be via Hookfield, Rushes Mead, Tawneys Road and vice versa.
Another one-day closure for road patching works, this time on October 19, is due to be in place in New Way Lane, Matching, from its junction with Hobbs Cross Road to its junction with Faggoters Lane, a distance of 1880m.
The diversion will be via Faggoters Lane, Workers Road, Threshers Bush, Tilegate Road and vice versa.
Maintenance and sign installation works are set to lead to Woodside, North Weald Bassett, being closed from its junction with High Road to its junction with Epping Road, a distance of 1305m, from October 21 for five days.
The alternative route will be via Epping Road, The Plain, Thornwood Road, High Road and vice versa.
