Motorists may find their journeys disrupted next month due to temporary road closures for roadworks in Epping Forest.
A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian details plans to shut roads in Loughton and North Weald Bassett while the works are carried out.
All temporary closure orders are valid for up to 18 months and the dates when works take place are subject to change.
Brooklyn Avenue, Loughton, is set to be shut from its junction with High Road to its junction with Brooklyn Court, a distance of 40m, for two nights – 7pm to 5am – from September 12 for six days.
The closure is needed for traffic signal renewal works and the alternative route will be via High Road, Old Station Road, Station Road, Alderton Hill, Brook Road, Brooklyn Avenue and vice versa.
Relining and stud replacement works are set to close a section of Epping, North Weald Bassett, for 13 nights – 7pm to 7am - from September 12.
The closure is due to apply from a point 660m north-east of the junction with Coopersale Common for a distance of 85m in a north-easterly direction.
The diversion will be via Epping Road, The Plain, Thornwood Road, High Road, London Road, Hastingwood Roundabout, Canes Lane, Canes Lane Roundabout, Canes Lane Diversion, Talbot Roundabout, High Road, Epping Road and vice versa.
