The Co-op building in Station Road, Chingford, c1938. It was built in around 1935 on the site of Tile House and the adjacent Richmond Road was planned at about the same time.
The Co-op contained separate departments, including grocers, butchers, drapers and a tobacconist.
A fleet of milk floats at the rear delivered milk locally every day. After 87 years, the shop is still serving customers today.
