Police have cracked down on drivers speeding in Essex hotspots.
Officers carried out speed checks in multiple areas between July 15 and 17, including Theydon Bois, Waltham Abbey, Abridge, Sheering and Nazeing.
Essex Police said there were numerous drivers flashing those approaching at high speed to warn them of the speed check, so they can avoid being caught.
Motorists were warned that helping speeding drivers to slow down only encourages such behaviour in other residential areas, which could result in an accident.
Essex Police wrote on Facebook: “It is also likely some of those drivers flashing to warn those putting others at risk by driving at speed, themselves complain about speeding drivers in their own area but fail to recognise the link.”
