Motorists using a motorway in Essex may find their journeys disrupted due to overnight closures set to last six months for roadworks.
A notice from National Highways in this week’s edition of the Guardian details the clousres that are set to affect Junctions 26 and 27 of the M25 and associated roads from as early as next month.
The authority is intending to make an order that would authorise the phased overnight closure of:
- The anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 between the tip of the nosing of the exit link road at Junction 27 (M11 Junction 6) and the tip of the nosing of the entry slip road at Junction 26 (A121).
- All the slip/link roads leading to and from the length of carriageway.
- The link road connecting the southbound carriageway of the M11 to the clockwise carriageway of the M25 at Junction 6 (M25 Junction 27).
The works are due to start on or after August 6 and the overnight closures will be in place from 10pm to 8am (maximum periods).
Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted via the other junctions on the M25 and the M11 and by using the A406 and A10.
Meanwhile, a notice from Essex County Council details plans to introduce a 30mph speed limit on a road in Ongar with effect from Friday.
The reduced limit will be introduced on High Ongar Road from its western junction with the Chelmsford Road (A414) northwards, eastwards and southwards for its entire length to its eastern junction with the A414, including all side roads.

The alternative route will be via Bury Road, Daws Hill, Sewardstone Road, Kings Head Hill, The Green, Station Road, Rangers Road, Bury Road and vice versa.
Market Place, Lambourne, is due to be closed for two days from August 13 for new water connection works.
