A man with a “kind and caring nature” who lived all his life in Epping has died.
Roy Rogers, of Bell Common, Epping, died at the age of 91 in Princess Alexander Hospital on June 24.
He remained part of the Epping community throughout his life, having attended Epping School and played for Epping Town Football Club.
Described as “well-liked” and "true legend of Epping", Roy would “do anything for everyone” and was known by many with both residents and businesses in the town.
His passion for sports – namely golf and football – lasted near till the end as he continued playing golf until fairly recently.
On Monday 11, he will be taken through Epping High Street for a service at Harlow Crematorium at 3.30pm.
