A secondary school has made “considerable improvements” and impressed inspectors after a change in leadership.
Ofsted has given Epping St John’s Church of England School in Bury Lane its second highest ‘good’ rating after inspections on April 21 and 22.
It marks the first inspection since the previous St Johns C of E school that required improvement was taken over by the BMAT academy trust.
The report says “behaviour is now unrecognisable compared earlier years” and that pupils have established productive working relationships with teachers.
Inspectors praised the “courageous, effective leadership” and quality of education.
Head teacher Mike Yerosimou said: “Raising expectations is not easy. But it is right.
“And we will continue to strive for better for our students and the community we serve every single day.”
