A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was assaulted on the M25.
Police were called to the motorway between Enfield and Waltham Abbey at 5.25pm on Thursday June 2.
Officers from Essex Police found a man on the hard shoulder of the anti-clockwise carriageway between junctions 26 and 25.
He was taken to hospital where his injuries have been described by police as serious but not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
Police say a 37-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, failing to stop, and driving whilst unfit through drink/drugs.
He has been bailed until June 23.
