The new town mayor for Loughton says she is looking to attend as many events as she can after she was officially appointed.
Cllr Barbara Cohen was elected at Loughton Town Council's annual meeting held on May 24.
In her new role, Cllr Cohen will preside over meetings and represent the council at civic and ceremonial functions.
She said: "31,000 people live in Loughton and I love living here. I intend to represent all the people of Loughton and attend as many events as I can."
She had served as deputy mayor and is a councillor in St Mary's ward and a leading member of Loughton Synagogue.
Cllr Cohen replaces Cllr Rose Brooks while Cllr Michael Stubbings has been appointed as the new deputy town mayor.
