Streets in Epping, Loughton and Waltham Abbey are among those in Epping Forest set to be temporarily closed for roadworks.

A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian details the extent of the closures and other restrictions that may be needed until the works are completed.

All temporary closure orders last for up to 18 months and the dates when works take place can change.

Underground structure works are due to lead to a closure in Weald Bridge Road, North Weald Bassett, for one day on February 23.

The road is set to be shut from 890m north-east of its junction with Vicarage Lane for a distance of 250m in a north-easterly direction.

An alternative route will be available via Weald Bridge Road, Talbot Roundabout, Canes Lane Diversion, Vicarage Lane, Canes Lane Roundabout, Rayley Lane, Canes Lane, Hastingwood Road, Greenman Road and vice versa.

Woodbury Hill, Loughton, is set to be shut from its junction with Kings Hill for 75m in a north-easterly direction for five days from February 28.

This closure is required for water connection works and the diversion will be via Woodbury Hill, York Hill, Kings Hill and vice versa.

Tree maintenance works are set to close Rochford Avenue, Waltham Abbey, for one day on March 2.

The road is due to be shut from its junction with Larsen Drive for 50m in a south-easterly direction.

Motorists are advised to use Roundhills, Honey Lane, Farm Hill Road, Rochford Avenue and vice versa.

The Plain, Epping, is due to be shut from its junction with Epping Road for 135m in a south-westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to start on March 30 and last for 17 days and is needed for multiway ducting works.
