People are being given the chance to learn about mental health first aid and preventing falls in online training sessions this month.
The charity Voluntary Action Epping Forest (VAEF) is offering free online sessions to individuals and groups this month. The courses available are:
- Online Mental Health First Aid Training – February 9 (9am to 1pm)
- Online Climate Change Forum – February 23 (10am to 11am)
- Falls Prevention – February 24 (11am to 12pm)
These courses, which are available via Zoom, are in addition to the other many services which the charity provides as part of their role to support individuals, voluntary and community groups and other charities in Epping Forest.
VAEF supports individuals with direct services such as gardening, handyman, community hub, volunteering, benefit advice and day activities for people with learning disabilities and befriending needs.
In addition to this, the charity also provides a range of practical support to community groups, including advice on funding, news and information, help with running a voluntary organisation, governance, compliance and providing a comprehensive volunteer service to help people in Epping Forest access volunteering.
VAEF has been operational since April 1993 and has supported local residents and voluntary groups for 29 years.
