Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing has said her constituents are divided over whether or not Prime Minister Boris Johnson should continue in his role.
Dame Eleanor told Everything Epping Forest that she is “consulting widely” with constituents who are both Conservative and non-Conservative voters.
The Tory MP said: "At present, opinion is fairly evenly split between those who believe that the best future for our country lies in keeping Boris Johnson as Prime Minister, so that he can get on with the job of rebuilding the economy post-pandemic, and those who believe the opposite.
"The position will become much clearer when Sue Gray reports on her findings about events that occurred in Downing Street."
The Epping Forest Guardian contacted Dame Eleanor’s constituency office for further comment and was told: “Dame Eleanor doesn’t have anything further to add and will be speaking to many of her constituents over the weekend.”
