A boxing academy that has helped young people improve their fitness is looking to expand.

Dennis & Dyer Boxing Academy, located at the ground floor of The Landmark House at Barrington Green, Louhgton, has been holding dedicated boxing sessions at several local schools.

It first opened its doors in April 2021 and has since secured over 300 monthly members, while also helping to train local schools including students at Roding Valley and Davenant Foundation School.

It will soon expand its reach further to Debden Park School and Goffs Academy in Cheshunt, as coaches Marc Dennis and Liam Dyer wish to train as many people possible.

Mr Dennis said that while boxing can be seen as “aggressive” it has many “positive benefits for both physical and mental health”.

He added: "Since we have commenced our dedicated boxing and fitness sessions at local secondary schools, we have had the pleasure of working with over 500 young people, who have enjoyed trying new activities, channelling any negative energy and learning new skills.

"We now look forward to expanding our reach and working with additional schools in the New Year, all whilst showing students, teachers and parents alike the positive attributes of the sport.”

Dennis & Dyer Boxing Academy opens 6.30am to 9pm on Mondays to Fridays and 8am to 2pm on Saturdays and 9am to 12pm on Sundays
