Torrential rain at the end of July left streets in Walthamstow and surrounding areas under water and resulted in the evacuation of parts of Whipps Cross Hospital.
Residents posted many pictures and videos on social media showing cars stranded, with many appealing to MP Stella Creasy for help.
In one street the flooding was so bad that a person was pictured kayaking down it.
Several stretches of the A406 carriageway were flooded and one person posted a picture of what appears to be a gigantic crack in the middle of a road captioned “It just rained so hard in Walthamstow the street exploded”.
Also that month, a Buckhurst Hill publican declared his businesses would not demand vaccine passports from customers regardless of the Government’s advice.
As restrictions were loosened, Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged caution and encouraged businesses and large events to enact so-called “vaccine passports”.
But Adam Brooks, landlord of The Three Colts in Buckhurst Hill and The Owl in High Beech, says his businesses will not comply with the advice – which is not a legal requirement.
He said: “It’s morally wrong. It’s scary. Why should I stand on my front door and put myself in danger to a group of five or six lads, or whoever, and risk an angry confrontation, or a fight, because I'm asking them to prove a medical choice."
And children and parents were left distressed and upset after a performer at a library reading event appeared dressed in a graphic costume.
The Redbridge Libraries Summer Reading Challenge, held at Goodmayes Library on July 10, was designed to encourage children to get into reading.
But the council launched an investigation after a performance included an actor dressed in rainbow coloured monkey costume with a rubber penis between his legs.
