Harlow Council have said they are working officials to remove caravans that have arrived on land near to a school.
Four caravans have turned near to Harlow Fields School on Tendring Road.
Councillor Russell Perrin, Leader of Harlow Council, said: “We are aware that there is currently four caravans on land near to Harlow Fields School. We have a zero tolerance approach to unauthorised traveller encampments and we use every legal powers available to deal with this.
"We are working to resolve this immediately and are in contact with Essex Police and the Essex Countywide Traveller unit. Both the Police and the Council's community safety team have been on site this morning and will be returning shortly to the site to instruct the encampment to vacate the land today."
