An amateur boxing club in Epping hosted a showdown at Epping St. John’s school which saw boxing clubs from across the south-east of England competing.
Epping Amateur Boxing Club, established in 2018, is voluntarily run and works with young people in the district to build confidence and skills within the sport.
A total of seventeen bouts ranging from two- three rounds were fought at the event with ages ranging from 11 to 18.
The first bout saw two young girls who took part in a skills contest.
Freddie Knitter, a team member of the club became the Junior Youth Champion 2021 at the event.
Eliza Malik showed “extreme courage” and was awarded after her first female representative fight.
The show sold out with family and friends of the boxers who enjoyed seeing the youngsters working hard in the ring on Saturday, November 20.
Danny Spicer, Head Coach said: “All our coaches are extremely proud to see how well our boxers dedicated themselves, not just on the evening of the show, but over the many months leading up to it." The clubs hope to hold another show next year.
