A number of roads across Epping Forest are set to be temporarily closed for roadworks, starting from Monday.

A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian details the extent of the closures and other restrictions that may be introduced while the works take place.

All temporary closure orders are valid for 18 months and the dates when the works are carried out can vary.

Sections of Harewood Hill and Woodlands Way, Theydon Bois, are set to be shut for five days from Monday for power cable installation works.

Harewood Hill is due to be closed from a point approximately 95m north-west of its junction with Purlieu Way for a distance of approximately 45m in a north-westerly direction.

Woodlands Way is set to be closed from its junction with Harewood Hill for a distance of approximately 30m in a south-westerly direction.

The diversion will be via Baldocks Road, Purlieu Way and vice versa.

Part of Rookery Road, High Ongar, is set to be shut for two days from Wednesday while pole replacement works are carried out.

The closure is due to apply from a point approximately 330m south-west of its junction with Chelmsford Road for a distance of approximately 360m in a south-westerly direction.

The alternative route will be via Rookery Road, Chelmsford Road, King Street, Rookery Road and vice versa.

A five-day closure in Willingale Road, Fyfield, is set to start on Thursday, November 25 to allow water connection works to be carried out.

The road is due to be shut from a point approximately 805m south-east then north-east of its junction with Cannons Lane for a distance of approximately 35m in a north-easterly direction.

The diversion will be via Fyfield Road, The Street, Beech Road, Dukes Lane, Birds Green, Dunmow Road, Queen Street, Willingale Road and vice versa.

Part of Betts Lane is scheduled to be closed for the duration of two weekends, starting December 4 and then December 11, for gas connection works.

The closure is due to be from a point approximately 245m north-west of its junction with Nazeing Common for a distance of approximately 90m in a north-westerly direction.

The alternative route will be via Black Lane, Nazeing Common and vice versa.
