A Turkish restaurant has teamed up with a homeless and community support up to provide hot nutritious meals to Buckhurst Hill’s most vulnerable.
Soiree located in Queen's Road have joined the ‘Homeless and Community Support Hub’ a non-profit group that was created in 2018.
The restaurant is taking their support one step further by asking their customers to help by donating unwanted clothes, sleeping bags and toiletries when they visit the eatery.
The charity is hoping to receive a good selection of winter warmers to hand out over the Christmas period and in the coldest months.
Clare Austin, the founder of the group and runs Academy Heating Ltd made it her mission to keep everyone warm- not just a few.
Mrs Austin said: “Our mission statement is ‘helping to keep everyone warm this winter.’
“As a heating company we do this on a day-to-day basis in people's homes, so we thought, it doesn't have to stop there.”
The organisation organise monthly outreach events in London where a team of volunteers lay out essential items and food for the homeless.
Mrs Austin added: “We always need more food, volunteers and vans to get everything up to London from Essex, so please do contact us if you wish to help.”
Anyone who wants to get involved and donate their time or items can contact Clare on Facebook- via UkHomelessCommuityHub page.
