An Army bomb disposal team were called to a Loughton property after an unexploded grenade was found this morning (November 8).
Military explosive experts were called to the address in Woodland Road at around 10:30am.
Essex Police confirmed the item was thought to be a grenade.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “We were called to reports of a piece of unexploded ordnance found at an address in Woodland Road, Loughton at around 10.30am today (Monday 8 November).
“Military explosive experts have been called and will make the item safe.”
The item has now been disposed of.
