On Monday, the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) was increased to now include the area between the north and south circular. From now on diesel cars just a few years old and older petrol vehicles will incur a tax of £12.50 to enter the zone.
This tax was introduced by London Labour Mayor Sadiq Khan who, despite Transport for London losing millions, gives free public transport to all over-60s whereas those in Epping Forest must wait much longer and only for a free bus pass. No wonder he was re-elected with such inducement.
Many in Epping Forest will be caught by this draconian tax, especially tradesmen yet we have had no say or vote on this.
Whatever happened to the old adage ‘no taxation without representation’?
