Following another tough year with the pandemic, Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) are searching for Citizen of the Year and Volunteer Team of the Year 2022.

Last year’s winner was Lisa Skinsley from Chigwell who set up the Oak Lodge Avenue Neighbourhood Watch scheme and over the past 18 months has worked tirelessly supporting her local community during Covid.

The Citizen of the Year Award and Volunteer Team of the Year is an annual award from EFDC which recognises people in the community who go above and beyond- making positive changes in the district, this year they anticipate many outstanding nominations.

The council are inviting people to nominate an ideal candidate this could be a good neighbour or charity worker, perhaps someone who runs a club for youngsters or older people or a team of volunteers who make where we live just that little bit better.

Nominees must be over 18 and live or volunteer in the district in order to be considered.

If you know someone who fits the bill and deserves to be recognised, fill in a nomination form at www.eppingforestdc.gov.uk/community/citizen-of-the-year/ and ensure it is submitted by Friday 26 November 2021.
