It is five years ago this week since several big high street names were announced as the first brands that were moving into a new shopping centre in Epping Forest.
The first brands confirmed for a new £14million shopping centre have been revealed.
Next, Aldi, Smyths Toys, Mothercare, TJX (UK) Ltd – which owns T.K. Maxx - and Hobbycraft will open in the Epping Forest Shopping Park in Langston Road, Loughton.
The shops, revealed in an Epping Forest District Council document, will take up more than half of the centre.
The inclusion of brands such as Aldi and T.K. Maxx contrasts with an earlier council claim that no “discounter” brands were being negotiated with.
Work is expected to start at the site on Monday, September 12, after which smaller units at the centre will be marketed.
The opening of the park is now expected in September 2017, a further delay after earlier dates of 2016, Easter 2017 and August 2017 fell through.
