A man has been arrested in connection with offences after theft from a shop.
Officers were called after the theft and racially aggravated public order offence in Harlow.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "A man has been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and theft in Purford Green, in Harlow.
The theft relates to a shoplifting report at the Co-op, in Manor Hatch, which took place at about 9.30am on Wednesday 1 September.
"The arrest was made at 9.45am. The man has been released on bail until September 20."
