FRIENDS and footie fans joined together to raise cash for a cancer charity in memory of a father.
Francesco Tagliamonti and his friends and supporters held the 11 a side match for Prostate Cancer UK in memory of Francesco’s late father on Sunday 29 August.
Emilio Tagliamonti was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2010. Unfortunately it returned and he passed away on 21 July 2019.
The team of fundraisers is raising money to help fund the development of treatment for prostate cancer to hopefully give others longer with their fathers.
Following their successful 2020 football tournament raising money for Prostate Cancer Research Centre, our 2021 football match will raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. It raised more than £500 and the game was a really close affair, teams were neck and neck for 80 minutes at 0-0.
Francesco’s 11 eventually got the goal via Mark Christodoulou, which was the only goal of the game finishing 1-0. Captain Rob Evans missed a penalty in the first half which would have seen his team take the lead.
Special mentions go out to Erkan on Francesco’s 11 for a great performance, and Rob’s 11 go to Josh Collins and Mike Smith who were solid as a rock at centre half.
