A 20mph speed limit is being introduced in several streets in Harlow and lengthy road closures are planned in Loughton and Buckhurst Hill for roadworks.
A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian outlines the traffic restrictions that are set to take effect from next month.
The reduction in the speed limit from 30mph in 20mph will come into operation in these roads in the Bush Fair area of Harlow from July 9:

St Andrews Meadow – from its junction with Waterhouse Moor, northwards for its entire remaining length, including all side roads.
Stony Wood – from its junction with Westfield, north-westwards and then north-eastwards for its entire remaining length, including all side roads.
Waterhouse Moor – from its junction with Tendring Road, north-westwards and then south-westwards for its entire remaining length to its junction with Westfield, including all side roads.
Westfield – from its junction with Tripton Road, north-eastwards for its entire remaining length to its junction with Waterhouse Moor, including all side roads.
Westfield – from its junction with Tendring Road, generally north-westwards and then south-westwards and north-eastwards for its entire remaining length to its junctions with Stony Wood and Tripton Road, including all side roads.
Meanwhile, a section of Nursery Road, Loughton, is set to be closed for 40 days from July 19 for mains replacement works.
The closure is due to apply from the junction with Fairmeadside to its junction with Northfield, a distance of approximately 460m.
An alternative route will be available via Warren Hill, High Road, Upper Park and vice versa at this time.
From the same date, a 26-day closure of Russell Road, Buckhurst Hill, is due to begin, also for mains replacement works.
This will shut the road to traffic from the junction with High Road for a distance of approximately 45m in a easterly direction.
The diversion will be via High Toad, Palmerston Road, Westbury Road, Russell Road, Gladstone Road and vice versa.
