A road closure due to last more than a month is among those set to cause disruption to motorists in Epping Forest, starting from this weekend.
A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian details the closures that are due to affect roads in Loughton, Theydon Mount and Stapleford Abbots and the diversions that will be in place while works are carried out.
The longest planned closure is due to start on July 1 and will lead to Albion Hill, Loughton, being shut for an anticipated 43 days.
The street is due to be closed from its junction with High Road to its junction with Nursery Road, a distance of approximately 475m, for mains replacement works.
The alternative route will be via Nursery Road, Upper Park, High Road, Warren Hill and vice versa.
More immediately in Loughton, an order has been made to allow a section of Alderton Hill to be closed for two nights from Saturday to allow footbridge renewal works to be undertaken in Beaverbridges.
The road is set to be shut from its junction with Roding Road to its junction with Station Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 160m.
The alternative route will be via Alderton Hill, Station Approach, Station Road, Old Station Road, High Road, Traps Hill, Borders Lane and vice versa.
Water works are set to temporarily shut part of Mount End Road, Theydon Mount, for three days from Monday.
Vehicles will be prohibited from using the road from a point approximately 385m north-east of its junction with Mount Road for a distance of approximately 85m in a north-easterly direction.
The alternative route will be via Mount End Road, Mount Road, Banks Lane and vice versa.
More works by a water company are set to cause a closure in Bournebridge Lane, Stapleford Abbots, for three days from next Tuesday.
This will affect the section of road from a point approximately 280m east of its junction with Hook Lane for a distance of approximately 185m in an easterly direction.
The diversion will be via Bournebridge Lane, Oak Hill Road, North Road, Orange Tree Hill, Havering Road, Chase Cross Road, Collier Row Lane, Collier Row Road, Hog Hill Road, Romford Road, Lambourne Road, Manor Road and vice versa.
