It's five years ago since one of Epping Forest's most famous residents was Knighted, describing it as a "monumental honour".
Rod Stewart has received a Knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
The singer, who has a home in Epping, has been honoured for his services to music and charity.
The 71-year-old has sold more than 100 million records over six decades, with number ones including Maggie May and Sailing.
He was previously a CBE, having been awarded that in the 2007 New Year’s Honours.
He said: “I’ve led a wonderful life and have had a tremendous career thanks to the generous support of the great British public.
“This monumental honour has topped it off and I couldn’t ask for anything more.
“I thank Her Majesty and promise to ‘wear it well’.”
