Several roads across Epping Forest are set to be temporarily closed for roadworks from Sunday.
A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian details the closures that are set to take place in the district including roads in Epping and Loughton, although the scheduled dates of all works are subject to change.
A section of Upland Road, Epping Upland, is due to be closed on Sunday for the installation of a new joint box.
The road will be closed from a point approximately 1150m south-west then west of its junction with High Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a westerly direction.
The diversion will be available via High Road, Thornwood Road, Palmers Hill, Maltings Lane, Lindsey Street, Epping Road and vice versa.
The following day a section of King Street, High Ongar, is set to be shut to vehicles for six days for hydrant repair works.
The closure will be in operation from a point approximately 160m south-east of its junction with Chelmsford Road for a distance of approximately 195m in a south-easterly direction.
An alternative route will be via King Street, Rookery Road, Chelmsford Road and vice versa.
Part of Brook Road, Epping, is set to be closed for two nights from Tuesday while CCTV manhole survey works are carried out.
This is due to be in effect from 11pm to 5am from the junction with Sunnyside Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a south-westerly direction.
The diversion during these times will be via Bower Hill, Station Road, High Street, High Road, Theydon Road and vice versa.
A length of Alderton Road, Loughton, is also due to closed for two nights from June 19 to allow footbridge renewal works to take place.
The closure is due to apply from the junction with Roding Road to the junction with Station Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 160m.
The diversion will be via Alderton Hill, Station Approach, Station Road, Old Station Road, High Road, Traps Hill, Borders Lane and vice versa.
Two days later on June 21, part of Mount End Road, Theydon Mount, is due to be shut for three days for water maintenance works.
The closure is set to be in place from a point approximately 385m north-east of its junction with Mount Road for a distance of approximately 85m in a north-easterly direction.
Motorists are advised to use Mount End Road, Mount Road, Banks Lane and vice versa at this time.
Another three-day closure is due to begin on June 22 in Bournebridge Lane, Stapleford Abbots, for hydrant repair works.
This is scheduled to apply from a point approximately 280m east of its junction with Hook Lane for a distance of approximately 185m in a easterly direction.
The diversion will be via Bournebridge Lane, Oak Hill Road, North Road, Orange Tree Hill, Havering Road, Chase Cross Road, Collier Row Lane, Collier Row Road, Hog Hill Road, Romford Road, Lambourne Road, Manor Road and vice versa.
