Coronavirus lockdown has imposed several hardships on our lives – some more trivial than others.
Fast food fans have patiently waited seven weeks to get their hands on McDonald’s and the wait is finally over.
On Wednesday, May 13, the fast food giant reopened 15 branches for delivery only and announced plans to reopen 30 more McDonald's across the country from Wednesday, May 20.
Maccies fanatics can order – up to £25 from a limited menu – from three Chelmsford branches, Westway, Riverside, and Boreham Interchange.
Plans to reopen all drive-thrus by early June were also confirmed by McDonald's CEO Paul Pomroy.
He said: "The wellbeing of our employees, suppliers and delivery partners’ couriers is my top priority and we will only extend our plans at a pace that enables us to create a safe working environment for our teams.
"In line with government guidance, next week we will begin the next phase of reopening a further 30 pilot restaurants in the UK and Ireland, offering service through the Drive-Thru lane from Wednesday May 20.
"Moving in step with government guidelines, we plan to reopen all our Drive-Thrus by early June."
