Two people who tested positive for coronavirus at Colchester Hospital have died.
East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust confirmed which operates Ipswich and Colchester hospitals, confirmed the news today ()Wednesday, March 25).
A statement on their website from Nick Hulme, Chief Executive, said: “We can confirm that sadly, two patients in their 80s who had underlying health conditions have passed away at ESNEFT. They had tested positive for COVID-19.
"Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
This comes after The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow confirmed a patient died after testing for coronavirus, but also with underlying health conditions.
As of Tuesday, March 24, the Department of Health and Social Care confirmed that 422 people in the UK have died from the disease.
