A man has been charged in connection with a traffic collision in which an Epping woman died.
Anisha Vidal-Garner, a 20-year-old woman from Epping, was killed in a traffic collision last week in Brixton Hill, south London.
At about 9.45pm on Wednesday, February 19, a car sped off from police after officers signalled for it to stop. It failed to do so and was then involved in a collision with Anisha – she died at the scene.
The car did not stop at the scene and was found abandoned nearby.
Quincy Anyiam, 26, from Surrey, was charged with failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision, dangerous driving, and causing death by dangerous driving.
He is due to appear in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court later today (Monday, February 24).
The Directorate of Professional Standards and Independent Office for Police Conduct have been informed and has taken the decision to independently investigate the incident.
