- A murder investigation has been launched after a 12-year-old boy died following a hit and run by a secondary school.
- Emergency services were called to Willingale Road, Loughton, at 3:20pm today.
- Several students from Debden Park High School are thought to be victims of the incident.
- Sadly, Essex Police has now confirmed that a 12-year-old boy has died after being taken to hospital.
- Reports on social media say that several children have been hit by a vehicle which mounted the road.
- An air ambulance arrived on the scene shortly after.
- Loughton Town Councillor and former town Mayor, Stephen Murray said: "This is very disturbing news to hear. Let's hope and pray for the very best outcomes when the picture clarifies."
- Commuters are being advised to avoid the area where possible.
