Work has begun to make a tube station step-free.
Debden underground station, on the Central Line, will be step-free by 2020.
Two new lifts are being installed, one on each platform, and a bridge erected to enable customers to cross between platforms.
These works form part of the Mayor of London’s drive to boost step-free access on the London Underground with more than a third of the network set to be step-free by spring 2020.
Deben Station, which serves nearly 3 million people each year, will remain open throughout the works.
Buckhurst Hill and Newbury Park Tube stations, also on the Central Line, became step-free in May 2018 and November 2018 respectively.
South Woodford followed in March 2019.
Debden and Snaresbrook Tube stations will be made step-free by spring 2020 and spring 2024 respectively.
