Police can provisionally name two people who died following a collision in Loughton over the weekend.
Sophia Khan, 16, and Max Halcrow, 21, both from Loughton, sadly died of their injuries after a silver BMW M3 collided with a tree in Goldings Hill at around 2.05am on Saturday, August 24.
A post mortem examination held yesterday, Tuesday, August 7, recorded that they died from multiple injuries.
A 17-year-old girl from Chingford and 16-year-old girl from Woodford remain in hospital after undergoing surgery. They are in a serious but stable condition.
A 21-year-old man from Loughton was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.
He was discharged from hospital on Sunday, August 25 and he has been released on bail until September 20.
We would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or saw a silver BMW M3 driving in the Loughton and Epping areas in the early hours of Saturday, August 24.
We are also keen to speak to anyone who was driving in the area who has dash cam footage, or anyone who has CCTV.
