A hospital is appealing for staff nurses to extend their career.
Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow is set to host a recruitment event this weekend in a bid to encourage Band 5 staff nurses to train as surgical and critical care nurses to fill current job positions.
Nurses are being asked to consider a career in surgery which will include fulfilling roles in acute admissions, general surgery, theatres, the post anaesthetic care unit and the intensive and high dependency unit.
A spokesman for Princess Alexandra Hospital said: “We will be hosting a recruitment event for Band 5 staff nurses who are interested in moving to a surgical environment.
“There is the prospect of furthering yourself academically as opportunities are available for training, return to practice and research.
“After the (event) presentations each of the applicants will be given the opportunity to attend an interview and complete a group assessment.
“Applicants can expect to hear whether a job offer will be made within 48 hours of the event.”
Nurses interested in the Saturday event (May 9) are asked to contact the hospital on recruitment@pah.nhs.uk.
