Devoted husband of Joyce Lane (died January 2007) loving Father of Richard and grandfather of John. MP (conservative) for Walthamstow East 1955 -1966. Freeman of the City of London 1966; Director, Burmah Castrol Trading Ltd (retd 1985), CBE (1944), Verderer of Epping Forest (1970 -1998); Master, of the Guild Freemen of the City of London 1981 -1982. Funeral at St John the Baptist Church, Church Lane, Loughton Saturday 26th Janaury, 1.30pm. Donations to Epping Forest Centenary Trust, C/o J. Markfield, 262 High Road, Loughton IG10 1RB
