I was Brice's registrar at St Clements hospital in Bow London in 1982/1983. I have kept a wonderful memory of him as a psychiatrist and as a man. He was warm, kind, with a great sense of humour with always a twinkle in his eyes.
From a professional point of view, he was a brilliant clinician (not just working in psychogeriatrics as we must not forget his early pioneering work on postnatal disorders.
My condolences to the family.

Thanks so much for posting this Nick. It’s fascinating to hear all about my Dad’s work. There are a lot of people sending me lovely messages about him. We hope to stream the funeral and have a memorial for him in the summer and of course you’d be welcome. Best Wishes Roz and Judy

I am so sorry to hear that Brice has died; I was, and still am, an enormous fan. I was his first Senior Registrar at St Clements (he had somehow prised me away from Desmond Pond - another hero). Despite his influence I took a job as a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist the other side of London, but eventually saw the light becoming Consultant in Mental Health of the Elderly in Hereford. Thereafter I bumped into him at Old Age Faculty meetings - he and Dave Jolly formed a wonderful double act. He was a terrific man, from whom I learned such a lot. My heartfelt condolences go to his family. With my very fondest regards. Nick.
