A donkey race that attracts crowds in their thousands is set to return from its pandemic hiatus.
The Donkey Derby, Theydon Bois's largest community event, will take place at Theydon Bois Green on the afternoon of July 10 and is now in its 33rd year.
The event regularly attracts 4,000 people who come to watch the young jockeys ride their donkeys around the course without falling off.
This year there will be six races to decide the champion donkey rider out of a trained set of 10 to 15-year-olds.

The history of the event goes back to old donkey races at Birch Hall more than 100 years ago.
Managing director Neil Leahy said: “The Donkey Derby event highlights the true spirit of Theydon Bois and our wonderful green.
“It’s a fun event for everyone and raises much needed funds for the local scouts and guides groups and several other village charities.”
As well as the races there will be stalls, rides, and fun and games.
